As an LVT floor fitter in the Midlands, All Floor One recently laid new flooring in the lounge and hallway of a house. Our client wanted the same flooring to be used in
both rooms.
We uplifted the old carpet and laid sp101 6mm plywood to British standards, feathering the joints to ensure a seamless transition between each piece of plywood. This guarantees a smooth, level finish on which to lay the LVT. A level subfloor will ensure stability and prevent issues like warping and separating.
Our client opted for Karndean Opus Warm Walnut WP327. We laid this in straight plank pattern in the lounge, and at 45 degrees in the hall. We used Karndean universal adhesive to glue down the planks.
A straight plank pattern creates a clean, streamlined look which was quite appropriate in our clients more contemporary style lounge, whereas fitting the luxury vinyl tiles on an angle in the hall gives a sense a fluidity and movement, drawing the eye and adding visual interest, perfect for making a great first impression for visitors to your home.
