Our client bought Amtico Herringbone vinyl flooring to use in the kitchen and living room. Our client had also sourced several metres of Amtico Minton style luxury vinyl flooring from eBay and wanted to use it in her hallway. There was just one slight problem, there wasn’t enough to cover the whole area in the hallway, so she needed some help to find a design that worked practically using what she had to cover the floor, while showcasing the pattern and colours to maximum effect. The first part of the process was to visit our client at her home to take moisture readings of all three rooms. This is important to do because vinyl flooring is highly moisture resistant. If vinyl flooring is installed over a damp subfloor the moisture can get trapped beneath it and lead to issues that will result in the failure of the flooring. We started the installation process by covering the concrete floor in the living room and kitchen with a smoothing underlayment followed by laying the herringbone luxury vinyl flooring over the top of it which also included a traditional two brick border. We then turned our attention to the hallway.
