Contemporary Flooring Creates a Modern Timeless Feel in a Kitchen!
All Floor One recently fitted new flooring in a client’s kitchen. They decided to change from tiles to luxury vinyl flooring. What are the advantages of doing this? You may want to change your tiled kitchen floor to luxury vinyl tiles because LVT offers more comfort underfoot. It has a softer, more cushioned surface, so it is gentler on the joints. This makes it perfect for standing on over long periods of time in a kitchen when preparing and cooking meals. LVT is also more water resistant compared to traditional tiles. It’s highly durable andeasy to clean and maintain, making it the ideal flooring for wiping up liquid and food spillages in a kitchen. With this project, being a floor fitter in Rushall, Walsall, we began the process of installing the luxury vinyl tiles by ensuring the subfloor was correctly prepared. This involved applying a layer of FBall Stop Gap 1200 Smoothing Compound over the existing tiles. You can see the original floor as well as the smoothing compound once down, in the photographs attached.
Once the smoothing compound had dried, we were then able to fit the floor covering on top. Our clients chose J2 Natural Timbers Parquet in a herringbone pattern. As with the original flooring, we fitted up to but not underneath the kitchen cupboards. Instead, it went nicely under the kickboards. The luxury vinyl flooring created a modern contemporary look which perfectly matched the style of the kitchen units. You can see what the finished flooring looks like from some of the photographs.
